The Resort is situated on crystal clear Mountain Lake in the Haliburton Highlands just minutes north of the town of Minden and a two-hour drive from Toronto. Ogopogo is a four-season cottage resort with full amenities on-site outdoor activities and nearby attractions. Our cottages are luxurious well appointed and our picturesque location is second to none. Like most cottage resorts Ogopogo has a full range of summer based activities like our sand beach heated pool complimentary canoes kayaks and paddleboats shuffle board horseshoes children?s play area etc. and winter based activities like snowmobiling downhill and cross-country skiing ice fishing ice skating and tobogganing.

Accommodations:

Our cottages are architecturally designed new or totally rebuilt. All cottages have decks or covered porches overlooking the lake. Interior features include fully equipped kitchens televisions with VCR units piped in artesian spring water coordinated décor and furnishings quality linens and towels. Most cottages boast pine floors and gas fireplaces and some have two-person Jacuzzi baths in the Master bedroom.

All our cottages are smoke-free and pet free. Everything is provided to ensure a pleasant and relaxed holiday. Just bring food and beach towels!

The Lake:

Mountain Lake is a designated Trout Lake. It is pristine; you can look over the side of the boat and see down 20 feet or more. The Resort has direct water access to the Minden Wild Water Preserve world renowned as Canada?s premier location for kayak racing. Ogopogo?s shores are gently sloping and sandy while the view across the lake is of mountains and trees. Mountain Lake is not heavily developed due to its? rugged east shore. It is considered to be one of the most picturesque lakes in the Haliburton Highlands. Fishing is excellent both summer and winter.

Gourmet Catering and Spa Service

A unique offering at Ogopogo is our Gourmet catering served by Crème de la Crème Caterers. We will deliver a four course gourmet dinner for you to enjoy in the quiet of your own cottage. The menu is available on our Website. In addition we often have Specials which include both the catering and accommodation. We also offer a complete Spa with both relaxation and aesthetic services ? all delivered directly to your cottage.

Location Location:

How can such a beautiful unspoiled lake be so close to all the attractions? It?s true. We are only minutes north of the town of Minden where you can find grocery and hardware stores gift shops a movie theatre library museum Brewer?s Retail LCBO and a hospital. Ogopogo is about twenty minutes from Haliburton Village as well as Sir Sam?s Ski Area (for downhill skiing) the Haliburton Forest and Wolf Centre and the town of Dorset. Algonquin Park is about an hour?s drive. We have five golf courses within a fifteen-minute drive as well as several restaurants.

Snowmobile trails and Cross-country skiing are close to your door.
